Taken alongside 0580 by students heading for A-level, the IB Higher Level, engineering or medicine. Calculus is its heaviest topic, so that is where these lessons begin.

Differentiation
Nine lessons, each about ninety minutes. Work through them in order: every lesson assumes the ones before it.
- 01The derivative, from zero→ Chords, tangents and notation, then the six standard derivatives.
- 02The three rules→ Chain, product and quotient — one at a time.
- 03Tangents and normals→ The gradient at a point, and the lines that meet the curve there.
- 04Stationary points→ Finding them, and telling a maximum from a minimum.
- 05Optimisation→ Practical maxima and minima, from the constraint to the answer.
- 06Connected rates of change→ Linking one rate to another with the chain rule.
- 07Small increments→ Approximating a small change with the derivative.
- 08Kinematics→ Displacement, velocity and acceleration in a straight line.
- 09Revision→ Recognising each question type, then mixed exam-style practice.
